From a book to a two-season podcast, Jonny Dovercourt’s Any Night of the Week: A D.I.Y. History of Toronto Music 1957-2001 has been a staple of entertainment for fans of music and stories during the pandemic. From Queen West to Scarborough, Dovercourt has been sharing the music hotspots of Toronto that put the city on the map for music lovers. He is now taking this knowledge to the streets with two outdoor walks to share the bands, people and venues that fostered creativity and new music scenes.

Toronto Music History Walking Tour #2: Yonge Street
Author Jonny Dovercourt (Any Night of the Week) leads you on a guided tour of Toronto’s original music venue strip, where rock’n’roll and R&B hotspots like Le Coq d’Or and Club Bluenote birthed the city’s modern-day music scene in the 1950s and 1960s. We’ll meet the ghosts of concert spaces past, and take a peek into the future outside the recently refurbished Massey Hall.
