1979: Val McDermid

June 05 at 1pm

Scotland’s Queen of Crime, Val McDermid, returns for another lively conversation in the TIFA spotlight. The globally acclaimed crime writer – and lead vocalist for the Fun Lovin’ Crime Writers – will discuss her latest creation, 1979. As the first installment in an electrifying new series, 1979 is set in its title year, and introduces rookie reporter Allie Burns, who is willing to risk everything to be taken seriously in a newsroom boys’ club. When Allie uncovers a home-grown terrorist threat, she devises a plan to infiltrate the group, knowing that one misstep could be fatal. Join us for this exhilarating look at how a master crime novelist builds the atmospheric, heart-pounding narratives that keep pages turning.
