The Festival returns in 2020 with the 41st edition from October 22 to November 1.

As part of the 40th anniversary, the Festival offered a number of additional offerings including the Fest at 40: An Anniversary Exhibition held at Harbourfront Centre. TIFA also returned to Toronto’s Union Station for three free events and partnered with the Toronto Public Library, and Library and Archives Canada on a new archival podcast series titled Writers Off the Page: 40 Years of TIFA

Visit the Festival Hub

No visit to #FestofAuthors19 was complete without a visit to the Festival Hub, located in Harbourfront Centre's Marilyn Brewer Community Space. The Festival Hub is currently closed and will return for the 2020 Festival.

The Hub is home to the University of Toronto Bookstore's satellite location, where you can browse and shop hundreds of Festival titles, and purchase a limited edition 40th Festival tote bag ($15).

Fest at 40: The Exhibition

Dive into the archives of Canada's largest and longest-running festival of words and ideas, and explore the stories that have shaped the TIFA authors of today--a tale 40 years in the making.
